Wednesday in Sports

Junior Braden Shinn pitched 6 innings and recorded 5 strikeouts, as Varsity Baseball beat Canterbury 12-2. Girls Softball took advantage of 6 errors, as they beat Lakewood Park Christian 13-6. Senior Chloe Smithley won 6-3 6-0, but Girls Tennis fell just short to the Concordia Cadets on the road 3-2.

Lilly Grant Student to Attend Butler

Jorgensen chose to attend Butler University in Indianapolis, where she plans to major in biochemistry, then enroll in the Physician’s Assistant Program at Butler. She plans to be a physician assistant in a psychiatric care center and later earn her PhD to open an inpatient facility for children.

Tuesday in Sports

Varsity Baseball lost at home to the Bishop Luers Saints 3-2. Varsity Softball lost to the North Side Legends on the road 12-8.

Press Release: Women’s Press Club of Indiana Journalism Contest Results

Each year, the Women’s Press Club of Indiana – our state chapter of the National Federation of Press Women – invites high school and college journalism students in Indiana to submit their articles for feedback and awards. The following journalism students won awards for their articles written from February 2018 to January 2019. A total of five Snider journalism students won nine awards in this competition.

Wednesday in Sports

Varsity Baseball lost at home to the Dekalb Barons 7-2. The Panthers are now 6-2 on the season. Boys Track won the Northrop-Wayne meet, with senior Bryce Jennings placing first overall in the 1600 and sophomore Julian Slater placing first overall in the 3200. Girls Track won the 4×4 relay, but finished second overall in the Northrop-Wayne meet. Multiple seniors signed their letters of intent to play sports at the collegiate level.

Tuesday in Sports

Varsity Baseball took down the South Side Archers at Parkview Field 7-2. Senior Jeffrey Tolbert Jr. pitched 13 strikeouts in 6 innings. 

Monday in Sports

Senior Reese Kuhns hit a solo home run and drove in three runs on the day. Senior Simon Dellinger pitched a winning game, as Varsity Baseball beat the Norwell Knights 8-4.

The Weekend in Sports

Varsity baseball beat the Northrop Bruins by a score of 1-0 in their first game. The Bruins won the second game 5-4. Boys track placed sixth overall at the North Side relays. Girls track finished runners up in the Marion relays with junior Payton Gorman being named the most valuable female athlete. Boys Golf finished the Carroll Invitational with 458 points.

Wednesday in Sports

Senior Brycen Reinig hit a home run and Varsity Baseball won on the road against East Noble, 8-0. Girls Tennis defeated the Northrop Bruins at home 5-0. Senior Chloe Smithley won 6-0 6-0 at one singles and Sophomore Jill Solloway won 6-0 6-0 at two singles.
