Snider DECA Program President Kayla Hendon and Leader Linnea Johnson received recognition to return to international competition held in Tennessee this April 29-May 2nd. Hendon and Johnson were able to be re-certified for a Gold Medal award for their 20 page report on accounting, inventory control and management of the Snider Spirit Shop. Snider vocalists fared well at the ISSMA State Vocal Solo and Ensemble contests on Saturday, February 22. Michael Boothe and Camille Haines received gold medals with distinction because of their near perfect scores. Seven Panthers competed in the Wrestling Freshmen - Sophomore State Qualifier tournament. Carter Wortman placed 7th and Nick Talamantes placed in the top 12 to qualify for the state finals in two weeks. They join Elijah Talamantez as qualifiers. Snider's Music Department will host the Nicholas Invitational Jazz Festival Saturday, February 15, from 8:00 a.m.– 6:00 p.m. Jazz Band Strings, Snider Combo and Snider Bands One, Two and Three will perform. The Grand Finale Concert will be performed at 5:00, and the awards ceremony will be held at 6:00.
