Advice to Ponder in Politics by Matthew Stachler
Having participated in numerous political activities and attended political dinners over the years, I’ve come to get to know the game of politics. I’ve worked for or with numerous politicians at the local, state and federal levels of government, and have also done campaign work for a variety of candidates.
As one can see, the current state of political affairs is divided and extremely polarized. In a time of such divisiveness, we need unity. House Speaker Paul Ryan once told me that “Every disagreement is an opportunity to learn.” He continued, asserting “We are all Americans and each of us believes in our views strongly.” In the current state of political affairs where we may all disagree on issues, political candidates, and laws put into place, we need to remember we all are Americans and we all have different perspectives on political topics.
You might learn something from hearing another person’s point of view.
